Jordan Hanks - GMS Football
Jordan is an 8th grader at GMS and currently a member of the GMS Football Team. The MS Football Team had its first taste of action Saturday and their defense was dominant. 8th graders Ayden Lay, Mason McKinnon, Donaven Fulton, and others really stepped up, but there is no denying that Jordan was everywhere. He had 16 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 1 fumble recovery, and even lined up at running back for a play and found his way into the endzone.
Jamari Lunsford - GMS Football
Jamari is an 8th grader at GMS and currently a member of the GMS Football Team. The MS Football Team had its first taste of action Saturday and they lit up the scoreboard. Jamari was in on most of the action, contributing on 36 of the team's points. He had 8 catches on the day with 4 touchdowns from passes by 6th grade quarterback Kyrie Edmondson and 2 more from 8th grade quarterback Mason McKinnon. He was able to pick up several yards after the catch and totaled 138 receiving yards on the day.
Addie Alderman - GMS Volleyball
Addie is a 7th grader at GMS and currently a member of the GMS Volleyball Team. The MS Volleyball Team had its season opener and home opener this week, both resulting in wins for MTVB. Addie played a big role in that, as she has been an incredible leader and serves as part of a core group. Her steady presence keeps everyone focused, and her clutch serves sparked the much needed comeback on Monday right when they needed it most. Always encouraging and putting the squad first, she's the kind of teammate who elevates everyone around her.Mason McKinnon - GMS Baseball

MS Golf has been practicing hard and getting some insights from the varsity team. They are anxiously awaiting their season debut in a couple weeks.
Lifeguards
Teachers and Staff - a sheet has been shared with you that includes the names of students who are playing fall sports, their grade level, their coach, and their coach's contact info. If you feel contacting a coach about a student-athlete's behavior or performance in the classroom is necessary, please don't hesitate to do so. There has also been a gate duty sign-up sheet shared with you for the school year. If you work 4 gates, you earn a family pass or CYOW. If you work 8 gates, you get both!
Coaches - Please submit summaries and pictures of teams and/or individuals to georgeedmondson@galaxschools.us so that we can recognize those accomplishments. Please continue to not allow any student athletes to participate in games/meets/matches until they turn in their signed handbook page. In addition, please do not allow them to participate in any activity (practice or play) until you have a copy of their current VHSL physical.
Parents - Please return the signed athletic handbook form as soon as possible so we can get these student athletes on the court/field with their teams to wash out the competition. Please let us know if your student-athlete has participated and/or excelled in any athletics outside of school that we can recognize.
