Brody Long - GMS Basketball
Brody is an 8th grader at GMS and currently a member of the GMS Boys Basketball Team. The MS Boys picked up a win at Bland on Monday and Brody played a big role in that, contributing 15 of the team's 45 points. Brody always tries to lead by example, providing great leadership, energy, and work ethic to the team. It paid off Monday, as he was finding the basket, tallying four makes from beyond the arc.
Jaqueline De La Cruz Esquivel - GMS Wrestling
Jackie is a 7th grader at GMS and currently a member of the GMS Wrestling Team. Jackie and the team traveled just across city limits to Grayson this week for a quad. Jackie had two matches and won them both! In just her first year, she has already put together an impressive 7-2 record with only a few more matches to go. Jackie, some other newcomers, and some seasoned vets are all playing a big part in the wrestling team currently sitting at 14-0 this season!

Lifeguards
Teachers and Staff - a sheet has been shared with you that includes the names of students who are playing fall sports, their grade level, their coach, and their coach's contact info. If you feel contacting a coach about a student-athlete's behavior or performance in the classroom is necessary, please don't hesitate to do so. There has also been a gate duty sign-up sheet shared with you for the school year. If you work 4 gates, you earn a family pass or CYOW. If you work 8 gates, you get both!
Coaches - Please submit summaries and pictures of teams and/or individuals to georgeedmondson@galaxschools.us so that we can recognize those accomplishments. Please continue to not allow any student athletes to participate in games/meets/matches until they turn in their signed handbook page. In addition, please do not allow them to participate in any activity (practice or play) until you have a copy of their current VHSL physical.
Parents - Please return the signed athletic handbook form as soon as possible so we can get these student athletes on the court/field with their teams to wash out the competition. Please let us know if your student-athlete has participated and/or excelled in any athletics outside of school that we can recognize.
