Stetson Leonard - MS/JV Football
Stetson has been a consistent performer all season. The season didn't end the way they hoped for, but the team grew so much this year, Stetson included. They finished with a winning record, and several players have talked about new blocking techniques or new keys to read that they haven't seen before this year. People moved around a lot, and they had several key players injured in different parts of the season, but this team came together and worked as a team. You could see Stetson laying big hits and coming up with solid tackles in crucial moments. By the end of the season last week, it was clear to see he will be a leader on defense for years to come.
Emmersyn Hawks - MS Volleyball
Emmy, like many of our other MS Volleyball players have been consistently getting better all year. Several of her teammates also had really good weeks last week. Mylee has become one of the leading passers and servers, along with Allie. Taylan has stepped into a bigger role and performed great in the beginning of the week. Clare has gotten more aggressive and came up with several big kills in row at the end of the week. Several servers are very tough to get by, including Ali. Overall, this team has grown so much. Everyone is performing to the best of their ability in their role and really working together as a team. Emmy is a big part of that. If you watch a match you can see that her energy is infectious. Whether she gets a kill or is sitting on the bench, you can bet she is loudly cheering on her teammates. She came up a with a couple of big kills to seal the deal the other night against Giles as well.

Lifeguards
Teachers and Staff - a sheet has been shared with you that includes the names of students who are playing fall sports, their grade level, their coach, and their coach's contact info. If you feel contacting a coach about a student-athlete's behavior or performance in the classroom is necessary, please don't hesitate to do so. There has also been a gate duty sign-up sheet shared with you for the school year. If you work 4 gates, you earn a family pass or CYOW. If you work 8 gates, you get both!
Coaches - Please submit summaries and pictures of teams and/or individuals to georgeedmondson@galaxschools.us so that we can recognize those accomplishments. Please continue to not allow any student athletes to participate in games/meets/matches until they turn in their signed handbook page. In addition, please do not allow them to participate in any activity (practice or play) until you have a copy of their current VHSL physical.
Parents - please return the signed athletic handbook form as soon as possible so we can get these student athletes on the court/field with their teams to wash out the competition.
