Hair Care
Other than feeding, hair care is arguably one of the most important parts of showing cattle.
Non-Negotiables are the following:
1.Rinsing Daily
2.Washing once weekly
3.Blowing dry each time your animal gets damp
Recommended routine and products are listed below. This is just my personal recommendation and a routine that has proved successful in the past.
Rinse DAILY; twice daily when it is hot or windy (cattle pick up more dust when it's windy)
Blow dry thoroughly after rinsing.
Work hair with a spray mixture of: 1/3rd white vinegar + Splash of RepelX Fly Spray during fly season + splash of Sullivan's Fighting Five fungus repellent + the rest of the bottle: Kleen Sheen or another sheen spray.
Twice a week, wash! (The lintox wash is important during show season especially!)
One wash should be a mix of Palmolive or Ivory dish soap + Splash of Lintox + Anti Fungus Shampoo
One wash should be a mix of Volumizer or another shampoo. Wash, rinse, then condition with Hydrator or another conditioner.
It is important to check your animal daily for ringworm. Let Ms. Murray know ASAP if your calf has suspected ringworm.
