Our FFA chapter had an outstanding week at the Cooke Co. Jr Livestock Show. For a complete album of photos, please visit our Facebook page.
Congrats to everyone involved!
Raegan Neu and Savannah Roessler were both recipients of the Cooke County Junior Livestock Show Scholarship for 2026. Congratulations to these Gainesville FFA leaders for your success over the years.
Each quarter, GHS teachers are asked to pick a Top Leopard.
Mrs. Broom selected Hannah Stuck. Hannah serves as an FFA officer, competes on various LDE and CDE teams, is competing in Public Speaking this year, and shows a pig. Hannah always sets a responsible and respectful example for her peers.
Mrs. Fowler chose Daniel Lane. Daniel is a first year FFA member and new to GHS. He competes in all aspects of FFA, serves as an FFA officer, shows pigs and is currently building an Ag mech project. Daniel is always willing to step in and help without even being asked.
Congrats!
Two Gainesville FFA members competed in their first ever floral design build off contest yesterday at Bridgeport High School.
Eva Ekstrand and Atzin Ruiz had 45 minutes to create a holiday table centerpiece using only the materials provided to them. Both girls received high scores and great feedback.
Eva competed in the Advanced student category. She is enrolled in Advanced floral, had the Reserve Champion Floral Design project at the 2025 Cooke Co Jr Livestock Show, and has a huge hand in operating our Flower of the Month program.
Atzin is a first year floral student and is doing a great job learning the basics of floral design. Congrats, Eva and Atzin!

D&L Farm and Home visited with our swine, lamb and goat exhibitors about their livestock projects and spent time shooting video footage of our students working hard in the barn.
D&L has been a long time supporter of our program. We look forward to supporting their business in the future.
Our chapter has been hard at work planning for Homecoming week. As part of our “Little Leopards, Big Spirit” project, floral design students created and delivered 200 mums to the Kindergarten class. They will wear these to the pep rally later today!
Adv Floral design students created 53 mini mums for Lil Leopards cheer and our horticulture students went big - designing and constructing a giant homecoming mum that has been on display in the GHS Cafeteria all week.
The plant science pathway was awarded a $3,099 grant titled "Floral Growth" to purchase an additional floral cooler. The floral program has seen exponential growth in student numbers, community support, and arrangement requests. The additional cooler will allow our students the ability to do more hands-on learning.
The Applied Ag Engineering pathway was awarded a $1,650 grant titled "Plumbing Concepts" - where students will make a belt buckle using the same concepts that apply to plumbing.
Thank you Gainesville ISD Educational Foundation for the opportunities you consistently provide.
Students in our advanced floral design class have created their first arrangement of the year for our Flower of the Month Subscription. This arrangement was packed with fall vibes.
We were also able to create the Custodian Appreciation and Instructional Appreciation arrangements for GHS.
