We call it $afe-Raising
The $afe Raiser program is a valuable fundraising program for your school. The program is currently under development. This page describes the program; however, registration has yet to be available. Email saferaising@gaapsafety.com to be notified when the $afe Raiser Program is live.
What is $afe-Raising? $afe Raising promotes safety for your students with driver's licenses, while raising funds for your important school programs. GAAP Safety invites you to combine promoting your group's fundraising needs with promoting safe driving awareness by encouraging your licensed students and faculty to participate in the GAAP Safety New Driver Challenge. The Challenge is a great way to promote safe driving to your students and their families while generating hard-to-find dollars for your school programs and activities. Your team or club can work to promote Challenge membership to interested families and receive rebates from the registration fees to apply to your programs.
For starters, every family that registers for the New Driver Challenge generates a rebate to your school or club of $5. Read below for more award opportunities
Participation rebates: Participation is simple. Registered members read an article (5 - 7 minutes of reading time) and answer a short answer question daily.
The website features a powerful database application that tracks participation. The participation measurement is how many times in a 10-day period the user responds to an article by answering one of the related questions. We provide materials for you to use to encourage participation and reward your school when overall participation exceeds 60% with an additional $5 for each registered family. That's an average of just 6 days out of 10, 10 to 15 minutes a day.
Student Participation awards. Schools with more than 40 registered families qualify for a student participation award
An annual award for students who participate in the program at a high level. The award is $1 per registered family with a minimum of $100 and will be divided among tied participants. A minimum school registration count of 40 families and a minimum student participation score of 80% is required for a student to qualify for the award. We can tailor this award requirement for smaller schools
Student Leadership Recognition: The challenge provides a great opportunity for student leadership experience.
Students who register as Student Leaders receive letters of recognition for their efforts when participation reaches 70%. We provide weekly bulletins leaders can share in assembly or announcement times to encourage participation. We also host monthly Zoom conferences where student leaders share their approach to encouraging participation.
Community sponsorship opportunities: We provide materials to share with community businesses that may offer matching funds for participation.
Community businesses have a natural interest in supporting driving safety. Our program makes it easy for community business leaders to register and commit to matching some of the awards students receive.
While candy bars and coupon cards make great fund-raisers, they don't offer the additional benefit of encouraging safety where young adults need it most. With rebates starting at $5 per family, $afeRaisers may just be the fundraising success tool your club needs! And the excellent ideas for driving safety may keep some of those families from experiencing life-changing tragedy.
