In KG2 during Arabic, we have been exploring letters and words. We have even been writing simple sentences.
We are inquiring into how letters with long and short vowel sounds can make words.
We are also being communicators by talking about their countries focusing on their cultures, different food and traditional dress. We are having a wonderful time!!!
In KG1 during Arabic, the students have had the opportunity to learn about parts of body. They have a fun time drawing their facial features.
Students were all very excited about learning new Arabic letters every week and singing a song about it.
Our little learners were communicators.
It is really thrilling to see how quickly the children in KG1 C have settled down into school life and their new classroom routines. They have discovered they like coming to school. “Ms. Gillian, I love school!” one little boy told me last week. Well now, that is exactly what a teacher wants to hear!
The children spent their first month of KG1, settling into school, learning new routines and eating up the lovely healthy lunches their moms and dads made for them. Then onto the first Unit of Inquiry: Who We Are. KG1 C appear to be a group of little artists who have taken part in many different art activities, bravely telling the group about themselves and shared their knowledge happily. In Math we have learned all about Matching things. Don’t be surprised when you hear your child walking around the house boldly telling you “Same Same, EXACTLY THE SAME! Their confidence from this newly acquired knowledge is lovely to see and hear. In our Language/Literacy lessons, the children have enjoyed each new Shared Story and Name Study. Looking forward to what the rest of the year holds in store.
We are having so much fun in KG2C! For our current unit, ‘Where We Are In Place And Time’, we are learning about similarities and differences. We have learned about so many different cultures from our wonderful, diverse class. We had some parents come in and teach us some things about their cultures in Colombia, America and Puerto Rico. We tasted some foods from different countries and even got to make some food from Ireland. We made rice krispie buns! We also performed in our very first Community Share in KG2. We sang songs in different languages and even did some Irish dancing. Our teacher and parents were super proud of us!
