May 27, 2022 Issue (next issue on June 10, 2022)
Hello GAA Students and Families:
This will be my last GAAzette submission. My last day of school will be June 10. My next position begins in July. I am returning to the United States after living abroad for 17 years. While I welcome the fact that I will live closer to family, I will miss the international community and rich cultural experiences I have had living abroad.
We are concluding our year, and our students are busy with final exams and projects. Please maintain communication with your students teachers. We want you to have clarity about your student’s learning. June 10 is the last academic day in the Secondary, which means that will be begin finalizing grades then.
We will continue to teach and learn until the last day of the school year (July 1). Our teachers will remediate any learning gaps that students may have in order to better prepare them for next year, and moreover, they will share concepts and ideas that made them passionate about their disciplines. It is a lively time in our school and attendance is expected.
Finally, I have been grateful to witness our students cultivate interest and pursue dreams. Going forward, I have every confidence that GAA will continue to flourish. I have been inspired by the professionals who work at GAA, and I know they will continue to provide the highest quality learning environment for students.
I would like to thank the SLT, Mr. Rinaldo, the Secondary Leadership Team, the Secondary teachers and staff, the office staff, Mr. Biju and his team, and GAAPA, and Maha Younes in particularly. In any large organization, people need to focus on and rally around a common mission and vision. For the past five years, I have worked this community to live out GAA’s mission and vision. I have seen these members display professionalism and dedication. I have found motivation in their actions, words, and behaviors. I am a better educator because of my time at GAA, and I am grateful for that.
While I am leaving, I wish GAA well. I will maintain contact with many of you, and I hope I might still be of some assistance from time to time. Please know that I will be in the cheering for GAA and its members. Best of luck!
Sincerely,
Kain Klinkhammer
Secondary Principal

This was originally scheduled for Thursday, June 16th, but will now be pushed forward one week to Thursday, June 23rd, because of the 40 days of mourning for the passing of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the restrictions that apply. We thank you for your understanding in this matter
