May 13, 2022 Issue (next issue on May 27, 2022)
Good afternoon Middle School families,
We hope you all had a great Eid and that you and your family are safe and healthy.
As shared in earlier emails, the new regulations from ADEK state that Distance Learning will no longer be offered to students, except for the following exceptions:
Students having medical exemptions, (need to get ADEK approval for such cases)
Family member(s) with high risk (need to get ADEK approval for such cases), or
Students testing positive for Covid.
These are the only criteria received by ADEK that are eligible for Distance Learning.
If families will be traveling out of the country or need to leave the country for specific reasons, please remember to inform the school and that Distance learning is not an available option. Students in Secondary can always access Google Classroom for any missed materials/assignments, or contact their teacher directly via email with any questions or concerns they may have until they are able to return to school.
We want to thank parents and drivers for their support with dropping off children to make sure students are in class before the National Anthem (7:45am). We truly appreciate your efforts in this matter.
An additional reminder that our Grade 8 Promotion will take place in mid June and we are inviting any members of the Middle School community who would like to support the event with their time or resources. If you are interested in helping please contact Mrs. Gayleen Gavitt via WhatsApp at 050 431 1638. She is also sending out information through the general 8th grade WhatsApp group. If you would like to join that group, please click here: https://chat.whatsapp.com/FLHPLJk3rLRHHJUvDj4dAi
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.
Scott Macdonald
Middle School Vice Principal
The Secondary Arts Team would like to share with you the Quarter 3 Grade 6 Fine Arts Showcase.
Our teachers have worked collaboratively to put together a virtual presentation. Within a short span of 9 weeks, our students persevered and demonstrated commitment to the creative process. We have some incredibly talented students and their hard work deserves recognition.
Check out our website below!
Now that we have transitioned into Quarter 4 of the arts rotation, we look forward to creating more memories!
Thank you for your time and support,
