Dear GAA Community,

As the school year draws to a close, we want to remind you that there are still several exciting events and activities taking place in the coming weeks. We have a variety of year end celebrations, field trips, and activities planned for students of all ages.

Events this month include:

  • May 16-17 - Secondary Islamic Studies students will be presenting the Applied Islamic Exhibition for all GAA community.

Also, congratulations to all students, faculty, and parents that presented in our recent GAA TEDx event, and to the Student TEDx Committee that made the event a reality and a huge success. Your hard work, dedication, and passion were evident, and the ideas and perspectives were truly thought provoking.

  • Khalifa Aljallaf (Gr. 12) – Navigating the Unknown

I am thrilled to share that our students have achieved some incredible accomplishments this year. From academic achievements to athletic victories and beautiful performances students have made us proud in so many ways.

I encourage you to stay tuned to our school website and social media channels for updates and to celebrate the many accomplishments of our students. We look forward to working with you and providing a safe and engaging learning environment for all students.

Warm regards,

Robert Rinaldo

2023-2024 DRAFT CALENDAR

We are sharing with you the draft for the 2023-2024 school year calendar, awaiting ADEK approval. As you may be aware, in addition to 182 instructional days, there were some specific requirements that needed to be met, including a 3-week spring break and an option for a 2- or 3-week mid-winter break.

After careful consideration, we decided on a 2-week mid-winter break, which will allow for more instructional time in the first semester and help ensure that the end of the year is not extended, leading to down time, lack of commitment and meaningful instruction.

We understand that this decision may have an impact on some of your personal plans, but believe that it is in the best interest of our students and overall academic success at GAA.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to provide the best education for our students.

SUPPLY TEACHERS

Dear GAA Parents and Guardians,

We are aiming to expand our existing pool of supply teachers in both Primary and Secondary schools for the coming school year.  Supply Teachers are hired on an ad hoc basis in the instance of staff absence. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate educator to be a part of our amazing community. To be considered for this role, applicants must have a degree in education or a recognized teaching qualification and have a spouse or father-sponsored visa.

If you or someone you know is interested in this role, please send your CV to info_gaa@gemsedu.com and write “SUPPLY TEACHER ROLE” in the subject line. We look forward to hearing from you!
