Issue # 19 - June 26, 2023
Dear GAA Community,
As we come to the end of the 2022-23 school year, it is a good time to reflect on the achievements we have accomplished together. We say goodbye and thank you to some valued members of our community, both families and teachers, that are moving on. We are grateful for their contributions to GAA and the mark they have left on our community.
Now, as we enter the summer season, I encourage all students to take the time to relax and recharge, but also dedicate time to your own personal growth and skills development. Stay physically fit and engage in sports, find a creative outlet and design something, and continue to develop reading skills.
We will be offering summer camps throughout the summer that will offer numerous opportunities for athletics and creative activities. Also, the GAA Secondary library will be sharing a reading guide with families that provides suggestions for books and on-line reading materials, and the Elementary library has organized a summer reading challenge to keep students engaged and motivated.
I want to extend my appreciation to all our GAA families for the support and partnership throughout the year. Together, we have created an environment that prioritizes the growth and well-being of our students.
Above all, I wish you a safe and peaceful break and look forward to welcoming you back in the coming school year with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
Eid Al Adha Mubarak! Have a wonderful summer.
Warm regards,
Robert Rinaldo
GEMS American Academy is thrilled to announce a major enhancement to our campus facility that will bring joy and creativity to our students. We are delighted to introduce our brand-new state of the art play equipment, designed to provide opportunities for fun, physical activity, and imaginative play. This is one of the exciting new projects that we will begin this summer.
Dear GAA Parents,
What a fantastic school year we experienced!
As the academic year draws closer, I want to reflect on our incredible journey. It has been a remarkable year filled with growth, accomplishments, and cherished memories.
First and foremost, I want to express my appreciation for your unwavering support and trust in our school. Your partnership has been instrumental in creating a nurturing and inspiring environment for our students. We have nurtured young minds, encouraged their curiosity, and watched them flourish into confident individuals.
This year has presented us with unique challenges, and I am immensely proud of how our school community rallied together. We adapted to new learning models, overcame obstacles, and demonstrated remarkable resilience. Our dedicated teachers and staff worked tirelessly to provide quality education, ensuring our students' academic progress remained uninterrupted.
Beyond academics, we also celebrated a wide range of achievements. Our students participated in various extracurricular activities, displaying their talents in sports, arts, music, and community service. Their commitment and passion have been truly inspiring, a testament to their well-rounded development.
Furthermore, our school community actively engaged in initiatives to foster a sense of empathy and social responsibility. Through fundraisers, outreach programs, and awareness campaigns, we instilled in our students the importance of making a positive difference in the world around them. Their acts of kindness and compassion will have a lasting impact on their lives and the lives of others.
As we bid farewell to the academic year, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our exceptional teaching staff. Their dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to each student's success are the foundation of our school's excellence. I am privileged to work alongside such talented educators who go above and beyond to ignite a love for learning in our students.
Finally, I want to acknowledge our graduating students and their families. This marks an important milestone in their lives, and I am confident they are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values to embrace their future endeavors. I wish them every success in their future academic pursuits and personal growth.
As we break for the summer, I encourage you to take this time to relax, rejuvenate, and create lasting memories with your loved ones. We eagerly anticipate welcoming you back for the next academic year, where new opportunities and exciting adventures await us all.
Once again, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your support, partnership, and commitment to our school's vision. Together, we have nurtured a vibrant community of learners, and I am honored to be part of this journey.
We wish you all a safe, joyous, and restful summer break.
Eid Mubarak!
Sincerely,

As we come to the end of another school year, I want to take a moment to celebrate all that we have accomplished together. We are so proud to have our school community in full gear after covid. Our teachers, parents, GAAPA, and support from our school community are to be credited for our great success. Events like the IFF, Fall Festival, School Iftar, face to face meeting, PYPx, musicals, sports events, book fairs, and a countless number of spirit week events that celebrate our school culture of kindness are some of my favorite moments this year. Our teachers, students, and parents have worked tirelessly throughout the year, and their efforts have not gone unnoticed.
I am proud of our students for their hard work and dedication in the classroom. They have shown incredible growth in both literacy and mathematics, which is a testament to their commitment to learning. We look forward to enhancing efforts in literacy, numeracy, and science as well as financial literacy, design, and more opportunities for students to engage an interest for, outside the classroom.
I also want to congratulate our teachers for their unwavering support and guidance. Their passion for teaching has inspired our students and helped them reach new heights.
As a critical partner in your child’s learning journey, I encourage you to get involved at home and at school in order to connect the links between teacher, child, and parent. YOU are a partner in your child’s learning and we need your support and involvement in order to make the best of the year. School is the opportunity to learn but learning is where the connections to life happen. Be a positive part of your child’s school and learning by being a strong GAA parent partner with us!
Thank you again for being an integral part of our school community this past year. We wish you all a safe and enjoyable summer break!

SY22-23 come to a close
Summer vacation begins on Monday afternoon at 12 noon. I know many students and faculty are excited for a break. I am too! Before we begin our breaks and have some free time to read a book, develop a passion and relax to a degree, I’d like to thank each of you for a tremendous year at GAA.
Students, thank you for your grace as you welcomed a new principal into your school. Thank you for helping me learn about the culture of GAA, Abu Dhabi and the UAE. I have enjoyed getting to know you and have been impressed by your inquisitive nature here at school.
Parents, thank you for your continued trust in GAA. While we have some faculty members who have chosen to move on from GAA, I will let you know that our hiring is complete and we will be ready to welcome all students into the building on August 28 for the beginning of SY23-24.
Please join me in thanking the faculty of GAA. Their dedication and efforts this year have impacted student learning greatly.
Enjoy a well deserved summer holiday and I look forward to seeing you all in August.
