February 25, 2022 Issue (next issue on March 11, 2022)
Dear GAA Families,
Our first semester has come to an end and we are prepared to host Parent Teacher Conferences on Monday, February 28 from 11 am to 7 pm and Tuesday, March 1st from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Parent Teacher Conferences are an excellent opportunity to meet our teachers and discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Please refer to Mr. Klinkhammer’s message for sign-up directions.
We are entering our scheduling season at school. Our counselors have started to meet with students in grades 9-11 to discuss course registration options and the alignment with college and career plans. We ask that you continue to partner with us by discussing your student’s plans for the future as part of this process.
We have started to notice an increase in students that are out of school uniform. In accordance with school and ADEK policy, students are expected to be in uniform each day. Moving forward, students who are out of uniform will be sent home. Please visit this link to make orders from our uniform provider.
Regards,
Erin Lumpkins

GAA Fine Arts Department is proud to present the Virtual Choir 2022, which includes students from the Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 Grade 6 Vocal Music classes and the Secondary school Choir Class. Even a few Teachers participated!
Huge thanks to Mr. Ashique, our Audio/Video technician, who helped Mr. Conner Joyce, our Music Teacher, to record the guitar tracks in the school Studio.
Each student and teacher was given a backing track to practice with. They then recorded a take of them singing to the track with headphones in. This allowed Mr. Joyce to gather everyone’s individual take and mix it together with the guitars in Garageband.
It took 7 weeks in total to prep the students, show them how to record (there was a specific set of instructions they had to follow in order to get it right), gather their recordings and then, finally mix it altogether. We are happy to report that we did not pitch correct any of our singers with digital tools in the post editing process, this is all us!
