Issue # 15 - April 25, 2025
Dear Grade 5 Parents,
I am excited to share with you information about the Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition, an important event that happens in our school.
The PYP Exhibition is a culminating project that allows our grade 5 students to showcase their learning and understanding of the PYP curriculum. It is an opportunity for our students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, as well as their personal growth and development.
During the PYP Exhibition, our grade 5 students will be working collaboratively on a project that reflects their interests, talents and the concepts they have explored throughout the PYP programme. The project will involve research, investigation, and critical thinking, as well as the development of communication, collaboration, and time-management skills.
This year, Exhibition will be on May 26th at 4pm. Please mark your calendars now!
As parents, you play a crucial role in supporting your child during the PYP Exhibition process. Here are some ways that you can help:
Encourage your child to share about the process they are going through in the classroom and show you their exhibition journals.
Support your child with their research and investigation. Help them find reliable sources of information and encourage them to ask questions and explore different perspectives.
Provide a space for your child to work on their project. Ensure that they have access to the necessary resources and materials.
Encourage your child to practice their presentation skills. Help them rehearse their presentation and provide feedback on their communication skills.
Attend the PYP Exhibition (May 26th) and show your support for your child and their classmates. This is a great opportunity to celebrate your child's achievements and to see the learning that has taken place throughout the PYP programme.
I hope that this information has been helpful in understanding the PYP Exhibition and how you can support your child during the process. I look forward to seeing you at the Exhibition and celebrating the achievements of our grade 5 students.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Tiffany Pulci
PYP Coordinator
Our KG1 learners have been buzzing with excitement as they dive into our current Unit of Inquiry, How the World Works. Inspired by the story The Little Red Hen, students enjoyed bringing the tale to life by acting it out for their classmates—building confidence, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of the story's message. We’ve also been busy in math, representing and interpreting data in fun, hands-on ways, while growing our phonological awareness through songs, stories, and games.
A major highlight was our field trip to Pizza Express, where little chefs rolled up their sleeves to make their very own pizzas! We also welcomed a special visit from Manchester City Football Club, who led an exciting Healthy Living workshop. It’s been a joyful and active start to the new term, filled with curiosity, creativity, and community!
KG2 has been busy this week! We have been continuing exploring forces and motion, and this time we have been using cars that we made with our own hands! We created cars at StuDIYo labs, and have been working to build ramps of different heights/materials to test which cars will go the furthest!
We were also lucky enough to meet a coach from Man City! We learned all about keeping our bodies health by eating good foods and exercising!
Last week Grade 4C had an unforgettable day at Snow Abu Dhabi, filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of new experiences. The students were full of excitement as they explored the wintery wonderland, zooming down slides, rolling through the snow in giant zorb balls, and taking on team challenges that tested their problem-solving and cooperation skills.
One of the highlights of the day was watching friends help each other navigate the snowy landscape and cheering each other on. After hours of icy adventures—including snowball fights and exploring the magical treehouse—everyone warmed up with a well-earned cup of hot chocolate.
For some students, it was their first time seeing snow, making the day even more special. It was a fantastic opportunity for the whole year group to bond, step outside their comfort zones, and make lasting memories together.
