KG 2 & Grade 1 Parents,

Due to the current restrictions from COVID19, we have been unable to utilize our Kitchen Lab to fulfil its purpose to engage our learners in science, innovation and creativity. For now, we have decided to pause our Kitchen Lab Program until further notice and until restrictions are eased. We are grateful that Ms. Bruce has been able to transfer within our GEMS network and we look forward to welcoming her back in the future.

We will continue to ensure that the sciences are woven throughout our units of inquiry and that innovation and creativity are at the forefront of our students learning in the homeroom classroom.

FORMS NEEDED

The Health and Travel Declaration form (online form) MUST be completed for all students prior to school start. The paper form (English and Arabic) may be emailed to:

• communication_gaa@gemsedu.com

Students without the completed form will not be allowed on campus, as per official guidelines.

COVID-19 undertaking for all students have been emailed by GEMS Education on August 20 and must be completed as per official guidelines

This is a friendly reminder that all families, especially our new families, need to return the following forms to our Clinic:

• HAAD Screening Consent Form

• Emergency Care Information

• Health Information (Pages 1 and 2)

• Medication Authorization

Students in Grade 1 have had a great start to their year by kicking off the Unit of Inquiry with looking into Who We Are. Students are using items from home to explore how to make informed choices by living a healthy and balanced lifestyle. They are exploring various ways to be mindful of their personal learning and how to address their needs.

Students have also enjoyed dressing down for Wacky Wednesday and Wacky Thursday! They are full of excitement to see the creative side of their classmates.
