The past three weeks have been very busy online for KG1B. The children have settled into a good routine, and each morning they have been online ready to begin the day’s activities with a huge smile and a “Good Morning Ms. Gillian Good Morning Ms. Des Good morning friends”. They know how to work their mic buttons and put up their hands when they want to say something. And they have focused so hard on their work at hand each day. They have practiced writing their names, writing numbers from 0-10, drawing shapes, learning the letter sounds of the alphabet. They have shared their weekend news each Sunday and now we are learning about Living and Non-living things for our new unit of inquiry. The children can tell you what living things need to survive. Don’t forget to ask them!

We have been busy inquiring into how living things grow and change. We started our learning journey at school and have continued to investigate and research living things at home. In Math we have started to learn about measuring and have used our thinking skills to estimate before we measure. We have measured lots of things!

In Reading we have learned to use our superpowers to help us read more fluently. We are added new powers every week and are now becoming stronger readers. In writing we are learning to put more and more on our pages. We love to write about our families, pets and experiences.

In KG2G students have been engaging in learning about CVC words. They can read and write them!

KG PE with Ms. Claire & Ms. Ruby!

During our KG PE lessons, we have been taking full advantage of the lovely cooler weather that the UAE has been experiencing. We have given the students the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors by doing fun and very simple activities such as going outside for a walk with their friends or families, riding on their bicycles, riding on their scooters, jumping on a trampoline and so on. We have also given them alternative activities that they are able to do at home if they were unable to get outdoors.

With all of the activities that we prepare and provide for the students, our aim as is to just make sure that we get the kids moving! This has even taken place during our live sessions where we have been doing lots of PE games and activities together!
