Honor Flights

The Honor Flight Network is a national network of independent Hubs working together to honor our nation’s veterans with an all-expenses-paid trip to the memorials in Washington, D.C., a trip many of our veterans may not otherwise be able to take. Participation in an Honor Flight trip gives veterans the chance to share this momentous trip with other veterans, to remember friends and comrades lost, and share their stories and experiences with each other. We have supported Starts and Stripes Honor Flights for over 10 years!

Pets for Vets

Pets for Vets was created to improve the lives of both Veterans and animals by bringing them together in a thoughtful, caring way. Our goal is to give back to the brave servicemen and women who have given everything to our country while finding homes for deserving shelter pets. By matching the right pet with the right Veteran, everyone wins! Shelter animals receive a second chance at life and Veterans receive a second chance at health and happiness.

Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative

Founded and run by veterans, MHVI's mission is to help homeless and at-risk veterans reach and maintain their highest levels of independence. Since 2008, MHVI has served thousands of veterans and their families in Southeastern Wisconsin. They make sure to not leave our wounded behind.

WOVIN - Women Veterans Initiative

Founded by women veterans, WOVIN educates, advocates, and increases public awareness of the rising numbers of the increasing number of at-risk, homeless and under-served women veterans, and help those women seeking information to help themselves and their families.

Guitars for Vets

Veterans shouldn’t have to face the challenges of PTSD in silence or alone. Through the teamwork and camaraderie of Guitars for Vets, they can join a community where they learn to play guitar and find solace in the songs they love as well as the songs they have yet to write.

Dryhootch

Dryhootch is a nonprofit organization formed by combat Veterans to help Veterans in their return home. The idea revolved around the creation of a retail coffee shop run by and for Veterans, which would also support an extended network of Veteran families, and encourage Veteran interaction with the community as a whole. “Hootch” is military jargon for a hut or a safe place to sleep during combat. The term “dry” denotes the organization’s mission to provide a social gathering place for Veterans that is free of alcohol which is one of the major problems plaguing Veterans of all eras.
