SYNOPSIS
SYNOPSIS
A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life. While these stories come from the religious text known as the Bible, this show is not meant preach, convert, or change your relationship with religion, but rather to celebrate the messages of community, love, and tolerance. Â
Runtime: Approximately 2 hours, including a 10 minute intermission

DIRECTOR'S NOTE
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Taylor Theater's production of Godspell! We are thrilled you are here. I was first introduced to this play while I was in college. Now, yours truly cannot carry a note, but somehow I got a (very) small part in this wonderful show, and it remains one of my favorite shows to date. Like the synopsis above states, Godspell is a mix of singing, ad-lib, pantomime and ensemble work that weaves the story of Jesus and His parables together that all ends in dramatic fashion. The cast has been working relentlessly on this production and are so excited to share this story with you. I think you will find the stories charming, the music memorable, and the message timeless. And, if you are like me, this show will remain one of your favorites.Â
Enjoy the show!
-Jason HatcherÂ
