Alief ISD has designed a program to take the budding student and refine their skills. This Program has been designed to be a capstone activity for students who have successfully completed the Culinary Arts course. The Culinary Program is designed to provide occupationally specific opportunities for students to participate in a learning experience that combines classroom instruction with actual business and industry career experiences. Students are taught job specific skills, job interview techniques, communication skills, financial and budget activities, human relations and portfolio development. The students in this Program serve as the lead chefs for the student run restaurant, Center Bistro. Students will have the opportunity to complete the National Restaurant Associations’ ServSafe Food Safety Certification.
