The 2^nd USC Competition of the Institutional Quality Improvement

I.Purpose: To encourage all faculty, staff, and students to actively participate in campus issues to boost the University’s overall teaching and researching qualities, as well as to improve administrative(including counselling and services) efficiency and effectively promote the development of school affairs.

II.Registration deadline: As from today to December 25, 2020.

III.Organizer: Office of Research and Development

IV.Co-organizers: Office of Student Affairs

V.Who may enter: All faculty, staff, and students from USC

VI.How to enter:

1.Participants should sign up as a team with a minimum of three members. The team may consist of faculty members, staffs and/or students.

2.Each team has the right to decide on the subject for its planning proposal.

3.The application form must be submitted by the deadline, and the planning proposal by April 9, 2021.

VII.General rules:

1.The competition has two stages: 1. Document review; 2. Proposal presentation.

2.Teams entering the stage 2 are to participate in the additional Poster Design & Presentation Competition.

3.In the Poster Design & Presentation Competition, the winner of the “Best Popularity Award” will be selected through the on-site and online voting by all faculty, staff, and students of USC.

VIII.Judging:

1.The judging panel will mainly comprise representatives from the school. Experts and scholars from outside the school will be invited as required.

2.The odds of being selected for the second stage depend on the result of the document review. The list of finalists will be announced when the document review is completed.

3.Grading: document review (60%) and proposal presentation (40%)

4.Judging criteria: content (30%); innovativeness (20%); feasibility (30%); expected influence (20%)

5.The winner of “Best Popularity Award” award will be determined by the on-site voting (60%) and on-line voting (40%).

IX.Awards:

1.First Prize: Certificate of merit & NTD 50,000

2.Second Prize: Certificate of merit & NTD 20,000

3.Third Prize: Certificate of merit & NTD 10,000

4.Honorable Mentions (3 Groups): Certificate of merit & NTD 3,000

5.Best Popularity Award: Certificate of merit & NTD 6,000

※ The winners are determined by the ranking of the overall evaluation score (except for “Best Popularity Award” award).
