We are thrilled to welcome our guest speaker, Mary Katherine Dally, a Speech-Language Pathologist and the creator of the popular Instagram account AAC4ALL. Mary Katherine will lead discussions on best practices in AAC, offering expert insights into selecting and utilizing communication strategies tailored to individual student needs.
Day 2 - September 27
The focus will shift to implementing AAC strategies for students YOU are working with! Participants will utilize information from Day 1 to target communication opportunities across the day. Attendees will engage in hands-on experiences, including a simulation of using AAC systems from the perspective of a DeafBlind student. Participants will learn practical approaches to enhance communication and learning outcomes for complex learners that include creating inclusive, supportive educational environments. Participants will leave the training with a "Next Steps" intervention form to implement best practice strategies.
