Hotel Information

We are staying at the Hyatt Place Louisville-East 

We will be using the Conference room located on the main floor behind the main check-in area.
This is where we will meet each morning to get our day started!

Check-In

Check-in begins at 3:30 pm Monday, July 15th.
You can check-in any time between 3:30-5:00.

Upon arrival, please stop in at the front desk to check-in for your room.

Once you're ready, come join us in the conference room and we'll get the party started!

Check-Out

Check-out is 11:00 am Friday, July 19th.

There are no scheduled activities on Friday.

Feel free to partake in breakfast in the morning provided by the hotel, pack up and head out when your family is ready!

PARKING

Parking code for FREE parking is: HPLEN

You still need to register your vehicle with the QR Code in the parking lot, but it will be free

Suggested Items to Pack

SPECIAL REQUEST:

Please pack an extra change of clothes for your young adult that will go with them everyday.

If your young adult has a backpack they plan on having with them everyday, it can be packed in there.
If not, please place the extra clothes in a ziplock or grocery bag with their name on it and it can be given to the staff and we will keep it in the vans while we're out.

Parent Coffee Hour

These sessions are optional!

They are here if you’d like to participate.


They will happen in the conference room.  They may move to an outdoor space, but will start off meeting in the conference room.


Please grab yourself some coffee or tea from breakfast and bring it with you if you so choose!  We will not have coffee in the conference room as that would have cost us an additional fee :)

"Experience with DeafBlind Project Supports"

Brandi will talk about her experience with her son, Alex, and working with the DeafBlind Project.

Brandi is a parent of a young adult who is DeafBlind.
She is also a member of the National Family Association for DeafBlind (NFADB)

Carolyn Wheeler

"Planning for the Future:  Figuring Out Vision, People, Money and Legal Safeguards"

Carolyn Wheeler works out of UK's Human Development Institute.  Carolyn specializes in financial planning issues for people with diabilities and their families.

Carolyn will talk about social security disability benefits, waivers, and preparing for transition to adult life.

Laura Lyle

"Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Overview"

Laura Lyle is a Rehab Counselor for the Blind (RCB) that will be joining us to give an overview of services available through OVR as well as Independent Living Services.

Laura is great at what she does and will help answer any questions you may want to ask!
