Mission statement

"The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) is a national, nonprofit organization focused on substantially increasing the representation of American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, First Nations and other Indigenous peoples of North America in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) studies and careers."

Commonly asked questions 

You do not need to identify as Native to join AISES.  We welcome allies from all backgrounds to become active members and help carry out our goal of supporting Natives in STEM. 


You do not need to be a STEM student to participate in AISES.  We welcome all interested students to join our organization regardless of their major field of study.


You do not need to be an undergraduate student to become involved with AISES.  Postgraduate students are welcome to join our chapter.  Industry representatives may join our organization at the national level.  More information regarding AISES professional programs can be found here.
