Welcome to the

Sensors and Technology Lab

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

California NanoSystems Institute

University of California, Los Angeles

Principle Investigator: Professor Rob Candler

The members of the Sensors and Technology Laboratory come from a variety of backgrounds (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Physics).  We share a common goal to investigate approaches to interface micro/nanoscale devices with the outside world.  Current interests of the lab include control of magnetism from the the milli- to nanoscale (e.g., microscale magnetic devices for free electron lasers, multiferroic cell sorters and antennas, 3D printing of magnetic materials), fundamental limits of physical sensors (e.g., energy dissipation in resonators), and the use of cyberphysical systems to enhance human or machine performance (haptic feedback in robotic surgical systems, sensing systems for metrology and enhancement of additive manufacturing).
