Teaching Assistants
TA Requirements
To be eligible to TA in the School of Nursing, you must:
1. Be enrolled in at least 12 units and have a 3.0 GPA or above
2. Enroll in Nursing 375 under faculty with whom you are working as a TA: 25% TAs enroll in 2 units; 50% TAs in 4 units
3. NOT hold an RN/per-diem appointment with any UCLA affiliated hospital
4. Pass the Test of Oral Proficiency (TOP) exam if you are an international student or permanent resident
5. Be available to attend campus workshops, trainings, and orientations.
6. Complete Title IX Training for Employees
7. Only have been hired for a TA, GSR, or reader position for less than 12 quarters at UCLA.
8. TAs are required to enroll in the N495A TA Seminar during or before their first quarter as a TA. As part of the course, TAs will take the five Foundations of Teaching Workshops. Please note: if you've completed the workshops and equivalent course previously, you do not need to retake either.

TA Training Workshops
