For the student production of Proof with Out of the Blue, performed in the Kerckhoff Grand Salon at UCLA. With only an $84 budget, three hours of tech, and equipment provided by Associated Students UCLA, I was able to create a sound design that supported the show's overall atmosphere. This was also the first play I ever sound-designed.
Included in this portfolio are audio samples from the “Proof Band” I created for Act 1, Scene 3. The director wanted band music throughout the scene, so I recorded my dad’s band live at one of their concerts and edited the audio by adding a wall reverb effect to fit the space and mood of the production. I also created and edited a reverse clock sound effect that was used in the show.
Included here is a screen recording of my QLab file for the production, featuring several of the sound cues used throughout the show. One of my primary sound design concepts was a low drone that underscored Robert's scenes when he appeared as a "ghost" or as his mental state began to deteriorate. This recurring motif helped create an unsettling atmosphere and reinforced the themes of isolation and insanity throughout the production.
For scene transitions, I incorporated clock sounds to signify shifts in the timeline, following the director's request. I also layered paper-related sound effects, including writing, page turning, ripping, and crumpling over the drone to create a cohesive transition. These recordings demonstrate how I used QLab to build and execute the show's sound design.
My first Regional Theater production was Hairspray with 5-Star Theatricals performed at the Scherr Forum Theatre in Thousand Oaks. I Sound Mixed 14 shows, helped load in and load out.

For Rock of Ages in Concert with Bimbos Production Co. (UCLA Student Theater Company), I was a Co-Producer, Stage Manager, and Sound Designer for this production. I joined the production late as the Sound Designer after the company was unable to fill the position, and quickly stepped in to support the show’s sound needs.
Added Delay and Reverb FX to the lead of this song because we could not have mics.
The Great Comet of 1812, with UCLA Theater, performed at the Freud Playhouse, was the first production in which I had sound mixed. This show was programmed with L-Isa software, making it more immersive.
