My name is Lisang Ding. I am a fifth-year Ph.D. student in the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) mathematics department. Currently, I'm interested in partial differential equations, optimization, optimal transport, mathematical machine learning. I'm enthusiastic about applying mathematics methods in solving physics/machine learning problems.
Previously, I obtained my B.S. in mathematics from Zhejiang University and an honors degree from Chu Kochen Honors College.

I am actively holding directed reading projects for undergraduate students. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in any projects related to my researches. I offer directed reading opportunities on advanced level textbooks/paper series. Students with solid grasp of linear algebra, real analysis, optimization or machine learning skills are encouraged to apply to the program.
Previous projects:
Optimal transport and mean field games (Use textbook Topics in Optimal Transport)
Modern large-scaled optimization algorithms (Use textbook Large-Scaled Convex Optimization)
Large language model and reinforcement learning
Large language model and finance
