New Student Advisor April 2024 - November 2024
New Student Advisor on a team of 100 student staff responsible for transitioning 10,500 new students and 3,000 family members of new students to UCLA.
Trained as a peer academic advisor to help students with academic requirements, college/school rules and regulations, scholarship requirements, degree requirements, and graduate and professional school goals.
Conducted individual academic advising appointments with 200 new students about classes and majors, including prerequisite and/or preparation requirements, and their first quarter enrollment.
Learned about 50 unique UCLA departments and resources in order to refer students appropriately based on their interests and needs.Â
Completed over 100 hours of training in the following topics: academic advising and course enrollment, co-curricular involvement opportunities, university-specific resources and departments, leadership skills, and social justice and inclusion.
