Welcome, my dear fellow Patrons, to the first workshop of Here's to You, With Love!

As I sit down to write this note, I find myself at a loss for words, which would come as a shock to my collaborators who will tell you I have quite a bit to say about this show. It's true. I do. This is a piece that has lived with me for years. It's haunted my notes app since 2021, my walks home in several countries, and all those quiet, little moments in between, long before it ever found its way onto a stage. 

It began, as so many things do, with a question. Then another. And another. Questions about life, about loss, about love. Questions about the people we meet, the people we become, and the people we carry with us long after they've gone. I've sent countless texts and voice memos and bits and bobs to all who would listen and read, trying to find the answers. 

But as I've watched this show come to life through the work of our extraordinary cast, creative team, band, and all those who have lent their hands and hearts to putting it together piece by piece, I've found that I no longer have much to say. Maybe that's because this show has never really been about answers. 

Still, as we watch the sun set together on this gorgeous summer night, I fear I must ask you for a favor. It's a question that has followed me throughout the making of this piece, and one that I hope lingers with you even after the music ends.

If nothing lasts forever, why do we choose to love at all?
