Guided Practice
Today brings a guided movement meditation for ancestral healing. We practice honoring the four directions and healing ancestral trauma from our four bodies (physical, emotional, mental & spiritual).
Born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico Andrea started dancing at the age of 4. She moved to New York in 2009 to continue her dance studies, where she fell in love with House music, dance and culture. A free spirit with a nomad heart always traveling and sharing her dance and knowledge, all while learning and exchanging with different cultures around the globe. She is a member of Open House family Los Angeles and Kadetes del Toke Mexico.
Andrea started her healing journey in 2014 with yoga and then with traditional Mexica/Native healing ways as well as Amazonian plant medicine. She is a practioner with the Shastai Spirit path community from Colombia and a student of homeopathy, reiki and temazcalli ceremonies with the Huitzitzi Yahual.
Weekly Questions: What remains in the act of transmission? What gets lost? What gets lost consciously and what gets lost unconsciously? What’s at stake when transmitting a gesture, a movement, a dance?

Solange reflects on Black ownership, particularly Black people’s ownership of their own culture. In a time of rampant cultural appropriation being disguised as “appreciation” and “celebration,” Solange commands people outside of the community to keep their hands off the community’s property. Hair becomes a symbol for Black culture, creativity, and innovation.
