FALL GROUP LESSONS: Through the month of September I will be offering after-school group lessons at the Lynch Family Skatepark in Boston! Please fill out this interest form for more information.
Q: What ages do you teach?
I typically teach kids ages 5 and up. If your child is younger but eager to skate, feel free to reach out and we can assess readiness together!
Q: What skill levels do you teach?
All levels are welcome! Whether your child is stepping on a board for the first time or looking to level up their skills, I tailor lessons to their individual needs.
Q: What do they need to bring?
A skateboard, helmet, and pads (knee/elbow/wrist guards) are required for safety. If you're unsure what to get, I’m happy to give recommendations!
Q: How much do lessons cost?
Private lessons are $45/hour. Group lessons are 30$ per kid. Custom rates may be available—just ask.
Q: Where do lessons take place?
Lessons are typically held at local skateparks. I’ll work with you to find a safe and convenient spot near you.
Q: Can parents stay and watch?
Absolutely! Many kids enjoy having their parents there for support. That said, some kids focus better solo—whatever works best for your child.
Q: What’s your teaching style?
My approach is supportive, playful, and confidence-building. I prioritize safety, patience, and helping each kid discover how fun skateboarding can be!
Q: How do I book a lesson?
You can reach out to me directly emmahoulihan@ucla.edu to schedule a session. I’ll respond with available times and location options.
