Misconceptions about MSG negatively impact Asian American communities (07/25/2022)

Director Jamie Oi Ping Chung has interviewed 20 families with dementia members and compiled their stories into the film. Due to cultural barriers, Chinese Americans perceive dementia with stigma—demented ones are considered as mad and a shame to the family— they are less likely to reach out and seek mental health services in the community (11/07/2017)

In this PSA (directed by Jamie Oi Ping Chung, shown at APHA-Global Public Health Film Festival), we saw people from the neighborhood (most of them without health insurance) excitedly flooding into the health fair and trying out different health screenings, efficient coordination among student volunteers and medical professionals, and bright smiles among everyone being served and served everywhere.
