What can I expect during RA Training?

RA Training is a crucial time for understanding the role, completing required training, and connecting with the values and mission of the Residential Life Department. You will be expected and required to be fully available to participate during all days of training.

Breaks and lunch periods are already embedded into the daily 09:00 AM - 06:00 PM. Please consult with your supervisor if unforeseen circumstances arise. 

When will I be able to move into my academic year placement room?

Some RAs may be able to move into their academic year placement as early as Friday, August 30th. Your supervisor will be in communication with you once your academic year placement is ready for you to move in. 

Can I attend training if I have not completed my HR Processing or completed my background check?

You will be unable to attend training until your HR Processing and background check are complete and you have been cleared. For more information on how to complete these steps, please email hr@orl.ucla.edu. 

What will my role in Move-In be?

You will learn more about move-in logistics during training, but you must be available to assist during a pre-determined amount of hours/ shifts. You must also be available after move-in to assist during True Bruin Welcome Events.
