All the courses expected to be offered this semester are listed on the provisional Schedule of Classes and Timetable.
Syracuse University reserves the right to cancel a course with low enrollment or to change the course format to an independent study.
A final Schedule of Classes will be provided prior to registration. Any changes to the currently provided Schedule of Classes will be well communicated! You will receive an email when this info is available.
Be sure you have met all prerequisites for courses you plan to take. Prerequisites are indicated in course descriptions, with equivalent courses described for visiting students. If you do not meet the prerequisite, you should not include the course on your CPF.
CAS 200 - Mapping Spain (1 credit). This one-credit class begins online before your arrival in Madrid and includes in-person and online sessions in Madrid during the semester. Our office will enroll you in this course.
At least one course taught in Spanish (3-4 credits). Spanish study is a requirement of the program without exception — regardless of your Spanish proficiency. For help in pre-selecting your Spanish course(s), please carefully review the Spanish Language Requirement section.

Some courses carry fees to cover the costs of materials, site visits, and/or study trips that are an integral part of the course. A fee is noted on the Schedule of Classes for any course requiring one.
Please carefully review the list of Spring 2025 Course-Related Fees, which explains briefly what these fees cover. Share it with your parents or guardians and/or anyone financially responsible for your fees. These fees are charged automatically to your Bursar account when you register for the course.
Course-related field trips are mandatory to attend. Some may take place over the weekend. You should therefore not make travel plans before the final field study schedule is issued to you in Madrid (after the Add deadline). Because course-related field trips take precedence, note that you make any personal travel plans at your own risk and may need to rearrange them at your own expense.
