Program Requirements

All Madrid students MUST take:

• • A required Signature Seminar, and  

  • A minimum of 12 credits in addition to the Signature Seminar, including 

  • At least one Spanish language course.

IMPORTANT! Due to the Spanish immigration requirement that undergraduate students enroll on a full-time basis, you may not drop below 12 credits at any point during the semester. (This does not count your Signature Seminar credits.) 

The online registration system limits students to a total of 17 credits. Please email Jeanne Chu ASAP (no later than May 9) if you plan to take more than 17 credits. You may take 19 credits without incurring additional tuition charges.

Cancelled Courses for Fall 2023

The following courses will not be offered this fall:

• PSY395 - Abnormal Psychology

• SOC 300.2 - Spanish Popular Culture

If there are any additional changes to the fall schedule, they will be communicated in your Registration Instructions.

Course-Related Field Study

Course-related field trips are mandatory to attend, and some may take place over the weekend. You should therefore not make travel plans before the final field study schedule is issued to you in Madrid (after the Add deadline). Because course-related field trips take precedence, note that you make any personal travel plans at your own risk and might need to rearrange them at your own expense.
