All About Me

Hi!  

My name is Mrs. Lake, and I am excited for you to be a part of my language arts classroom.  Throughout the school year you will learn a lot about me, and what goes on in my daily life.  However, before we begin in the classroom, I want to give you a little background information about myself.  

Teaching Experience:

• This will be my nineteenth year as an elementary teacher at Sebeka Elementary School.

• Prior to teaching elementary I taught three years of high school special education here, as well.

• Before moving to Sebeka I taught elementary special education for five years in Springfield, Minnesota.

Education:

• As a student I attended school in George, Iowa from kindergarten through 12th grade graduating in 1992.

• Then, I attended Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa through 1996 graduating with an elementary and special education double major and a coaching licensure.

Personal Life:

• I have been married to Jeff Lake (health & physical education teacher) since June of 1996.

• We have four crazy and fun-loving children:  Madison is a certified athletic trainer living in New Richmond, Wisconsin; Maya, married to Gunner Starzl, is a dental hygienist living in Perham, Minnesota; Maci is a junior at South Dakota State University; and Max is an eleventh grader at Sebeka Public School.

•  Outside of the classroom you will find me supporting our son Max at his various athletic events.  I also enjoy exercising, reading, and spending time with my immediate and extended family.
