My name is Travis Ostby. I am a 3rd year teacher that will be teaching 7-12 Social Studies. I taught 7th grade Science at Horizon Middle School in Moorhead MN for the 2023/2024 school year and completed my 1st year as a 7-12 Social Studies teacher in Sebeka during the 2024/2025 school year. 

I graduated from Morris Area High School in 2016. I went to Luther College in Decorah Iowa for the 2016/2017 school year and then transferred to Concordia College where I received my Baccalaureate Degree in Social Studies Education. I was apart of the wrestling teams at both Luther College and Concordia College during my college career. 

I graduated from Concordia College in 2020 where I did not go straight into education, but took a slight detour and worked for the City of Moorhead as a Water Laborer and Equipment Operator until 2023. I applied to become a Full-Time Substitute Float within Horizon Middle School and was offered a Full-Time position as a 7th grade Science teacher. 

I am married with 2 children and a 3rd on the way (Due in October). Lexi, my wife, is an RN at Astera Health in Wadena. I have 2 girls, McKenna (4) and McKenzie(2). We also have 2 pets. Jax is a Chocolate Lab and Buster is our house cat.

I am an assistant wrestling coach for the UNC Warriors and enjoyed my time as coach last season. I am excited for this upcoming wrestling season and hope we can have a repeat showing at the State Tournament in March. 

I am also the junior high knowledge bowl coach. We did well as a team last year and had a top 3 finish at the junior high knowledge bowl regionals. I am excited for the upcoming knowledge bowl season and am hoping we can do just as well if not better than the previous year at regionals.
