Hello! This will be my third year teaching special education at Sebeka High School! After graduating from Willow River High School in 2004, I went on to pursue my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Bemidji State University. Instead of starting my teaching career after college, I was hired as the Online Coordinator for Minnesota Virtual School for Success (MNVSS), an online school based out of Hendricks, MN. My 5 years in this role emphasized the importance of establishing trusting relationships with students and parents/guardians, and gave me better insight into the need for alternative education in order to meet the needs of all learners. I decided, therefore, to begin my career as a special education teacher. This will be my fourth year teaching high school special education, while pursuing my Master's degree in Special Education. Other than working with teachers and students, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, road trips, and football season.
Please feel free to contact me about anything - if it is important to you or your student, then it is important to me, too. I value what you have to say, and I believe that we must communicate with each other in order to best support our shared interest: your student's success. I may not always be available immediately, but will respond to emails and voicemails within 24 hours (barring any emergencies).
