Hi!  My name is Melissa Koch.  I began teaching music in the fall of 2001 at Eagle Valley High School.  I taught band, choir, and general music to 7-12 grade Rebel students for six years.

I am now beginning my seventeenth year teaching elementary general music, junior high choir, show choir, and senior high choir here in Sebeka.

I grew up in central North Dakota but I have spent quite a lot of time in this area.  My folks were raised in the Wolf Lake area and my grandparents still live here.  My folks moved to Osage a few years ago and it is nice to have them close by.

I went to college at Jamestown College (Now the University of Jamestown) and graduated in 2001 with my music education degree.  I am currently working toward my masters in music education with the goal of graduating with that degree from NDSU this December.

I enjoy working and serviing in my community and at church by helping with local events, playing organ and piano for church services, teaching Sunday School and VBS, and serving on the church board of education.  I like reading (A LOT!) suspense and mystery novels and doing crossword puzzles.  I love watching sit-com reruns, especially episodes of Friends, The Office, and Parks and Rec.

My husband, Kyle, works in Perham as a machinist at Swan Machine.  He also builds fishing rods when he can't be out fishing or hunting anything that has a season with whatever method of hunting that is allowed!

Our son, Clinton, will be starting sixth grade this year.  He is following in his dad's footsteps with hunting and fishing passions!  He also enjoys playing, watching, and learning about football and baseball.
