About Me

Hi,

My name is Donna Yliniemi and I am the Media Generalist at Sebeka Public School. Here is what I do:

• Teach library and literacy skills to classes in grades K-6.

• Teach computer and keyboarding skills to grades 1-6.

• Order materials and books for the media center.

• Help teachers find books for their classes.

• Help students find reading and research materials.

• Answer questions about technology use in the media center.

• Many committees and special projects.

When I am not at Sebeka school I live in Menahga. I spend my free time during a variety of things:

• Reading, listening to music, watching movies and crafts.

• Vocalist in Praise Band, and design worship presentations at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids.

• Food Service manager at Camp Emmaus in Menahga. I have worked there since I was 18 years old.

• I am always cleaning my house but all the other things listed above come first!

My background:

• Grew up on the Ponsford prairie and graduated from high school from Park Rapids.

• Graduated with a Home Economics Education degree from North Dakota State University.

• Taught in Elbow Lake Public School for four years as a Home Economics Teacher.

• Worked at the University of Minnesota Crookston as an Admissions Counselor for eight years.

• Graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Master of Science degree in Information Media.

• Taught in Braham Public School in the Media Center for one year before I came to Sebeka. I started here in 1996.

• One of the oldest in my family and have a twin sister who is a media generalist in Rochester, MN.

• Three sisters and one brother, three nieces and two nephews, and two brother-in-laws.
