If you want to experience tranquility and communicate with deities in the bustling city of New Taipei, Xianse Temple would be a good choice for you.
先嗇宮又叫做五谷王廟，「先嗇」之名取自八蜡的農業神，並且排首位，也就是神農氏。第一次參訪先嗇宮時，我們深深地被它的外觀所吸引，讓我們迫不及待的想深入探索它，先嗇宮的建築外形，堪稱全臺灣現存對稱最明顯的建築，因為它是由不同的師傅分別建造，合力完成。
Xianse Temple is also known as Wugu King's Temple. Its name derives from the Agricultural God, Shen Nong, who ranked first among the Eight Deities. The first time we visited Xianse Temple, we were deeply attracted by its appearance, which made us eager to explore it further. The architectural form of Xianse Temple is considered the most symmetrical in Taiwan, as it was constructed by different masters working together.
其特色是建築不同部分相對應的結構，尺寸相似，形狀、樣式、手法卻有所不同，主要由前殿、正殿、後殿、東、西護室等組成，並且它的外觀有左青龍、右白虎，呈現了復古及樸實的特色，而它繁瑣的線條，勾勒出這棟建築華麗的風貌。
Its uniqueness lies in the corresponding structures of different building parts, with similar dimensions but different shapes, styles, and techniques. It mainly consists of the front hall, main hall, rear hall, east and west auxiliary chambers. Its exterior features left Azure Dragon and right white tiger, presenting a retro and rustic charm. The intricate lines outline the magnificent appearance of this building.
這間廟宇一共有13位神明，而我們主要會讓大家了解先嗇宮的—神農大帝以及被堪稱為台版愛神的月老仙君。
There are a total of 13 deities. The following paragraphs mainly focus on two Gods, including Shen Nong Emperor and Yue Lao Xian Jun, known as the Taiwanese Cupid.
神農大帝是民間農業的守護者，管理田間野外的一切，教導人們耕作方法及食用穀物及蔬菜， 幫助他們豐衣足食。傳說祂有一個「水晶肚」，能夠看到人體器官內部的情況，並且可以嘗試百草中有毒的藥物，另外祂有一把紅色神鞭，用來打各種花草，讓人們可以遠離不必要的疾病，神農大帝最後是因為嘗試了一種劇毒的藥物而喪命。
The Shen Nong Emperor serves as the guardian of agriculture for the people. He can oversee everything in the fields and wilderness, teach people farming methods, and ensure farmers have an abundant supply. It is said that he had a "crystal belly" that allowed him to see into the human body and try poisonous herbs. Additionally, he possessed a red divine whip used to strike various flowers and plants. Therefore, people can prevent some unnecessary illnesses. However, Shen Nong Emperor died because he tried a toxic substance.
除了神農大帝之外，在這裡還有一位台版邱比特—月老仙君，到月老廟求姻緣的人，必須先跟祂說你的名字、出生年月日、居住地址，然後向祂列出找對象的條件，並求一條紅線，求紅線時，說明的對象條件越清楚，祂才能更快替你找到有緣人，然後要跟祂說「請賜給我一條紅線，如果可以請賜給我三次聖杯」，接著，求得紅線後，將紅線帶在身邊，紅線不見時就表示緣分快來了；而如果已經有喜歡的人，就告訴祂你的對象叫什麼名字，如果有想詢問的問題也都可以一一擲筊詢問。
In addition to the Shen Nong Emperor, there is Yue Lao Xian Jun, the Taiwanese version of Cupid. There is a procedure to worship Yue Lao if you pray for a romantic relationship. First, tell Yue Lao Xian Jun your personal information, such as name, date of birth, and residential address. After telling your basic information, you must tell Yue Lao the qualities you hope your future partner has. The more detailed qualities you list, the more likely Yue Lao will find your prospective partner. When you finish praying, you have to request a red string from Yue Lao. Once you successfully get a red string, you have to wear it on your hand. If it suddenly disappears, your future partner will show up soon. Nevertheless, if you have a crush in your heart, you can directly tell Yue Lao whether you have an opportunity to be in a relationship with them.
拜完之後，如果你突然感到肚子餓，那麼你一定要嘗嘗四神湯跟米糕這個神仙組合，米糕是詩人蘇軾在他的仇池筆記中記錄的「盤游飯」， 一般用鍋子煮熟的糯米飯，稱為「米糕」，雖然米糕跟油飯很像，但「油飯」是用炒的，而「米糕」是用蒸的。
You might feel hungry after worshiping Gods. It is highly recommended to combine Rice Cakes with Si Shen Soup. Rice Cake, known as "pan-game rice," was first recorded by poet Su Shi. It is typically cooked glutinous rice in a pot, called "rice cakes." Although rice cakes are similar to oil rice, "oil rice" is fried, while "rice cakes" are steamed.
接下來，如果覺得單吃米糕會太乾的話，那麼四神湯很適合用來搭配米糕一起吃，四神湯是民間傳統的藥膳，原稱「四臣湯」，相傳它的由來是由於乾隆為探訪民情，從京城南下，到了江南，而四臣因過勞最後累倒，接著有位高人開出藥方，四人服用後立即康復，接著乾隆昭告天下「四臣，事成！」宣示四位大臣已安好無恙， 從此「四臣湯」在民間廣為流傳，而因為這藥膳的「神」效，就將它稱為「四神湯」了。
Four Herbs Soup is a traditional herbal soup, originally called "Four Ministers Soup." Legend has it that Emperor Qianlong's four ministers collapsed due to exhaustion during his visit to the south of the capital. Soon, a wise person prescribed a medicinal recipe. They immediately recovered after taking this medicine. From then on, "Four Ministers Soup" became widely known among the people. Due to its miraculous effects, it was renamed "Four Herbs Soup."
