So, I was finally able to present at the conference I got the funding from DSA for last semester (the conference was delayed due to COVID). Dr Cormier (who is on my PhD committee) also attended and snapped a picture of me while I was doing my talk and I remembered you guys wanted a photo. I am also including a few other pictures of my experience. As many of you know, my research is in using 3D printable lattice structures to improve prosthetic devices. I was able to attend some of the World Adaptive Surfing Championships with several of the other speakers at the conference which happened concurrently. Not only did I get to see some amazing people using some technologically-advanced prosthetic devices as they competed, it gave us a wonderful opportunity to build great connections with others who work in the field. I even got to see a snow goose with a new prosthetic leg learning to swim! At the conference, I also made a connection with a person who works at the Office of Veterans Affairs. I have already been contacted by them since the conference, and they have made an email introduction of me to several of their colleagues at the VA working in a related area of research. I expect that this new relationship will only grow and could lead to some very interesting future collaboration that I am beyond excited for, and the funding from the RIT DSA helped allow me the opportunity to be there. Thanks DSA!
