Preparations of Benzothiazolium dyes
During his time in the Cody lab, Liam worked on developing synthetic control over the preparation of benzothiazolium salts. While at RIT, Liam was fortunate to conduct research through multiple summer research fellowships and worked as a learning assistant to develop his teaching skills. Liam is currently a Ph.D. student at Cornell University, where he is co-advised between Professor Marissa Lavagnino and Professor Phillip Milner. Liam’s research interests are currently in developing catalytic methods with a focus on heterogeneous catalysis for fine-molecule synthesis. Liam looks forward to a future career as a researcher in synthetic methods and organometallic chemistry.

He defended his Ph.D. thesis "Advances in Indole Chemistry: Regiodivergent Annulations and Bridged Azacycle Synthesis" in 2025. Currently, Zachary is a postdoctoral scientist at Scripps Research.
