User testing was performed with individuals belonging to the target audience and some of the original interviewees who participated in the contextual inquiry. The users were presented with the high-fidelity prototype on a mobile device through the Figma Mirror application and they were allowed to interact with the application freely. Feedback was asked regarding the same after the test.
The queries and the issues identified are compiled in the following section.
Issue 1: The in-store availability doesn't say when the quantity was last updated.
Possible Solution: Adding a timestamp next to the value indicating when the value was updated.
Issue 2: The budget card on the dashboard does not have any interaction, only the button on the card does. There is a natural inclination to click on the card as opposed to the button.
Possible Solution: Making the card interactable with clicks/taps as well.
Overall Feedback: The user liked the application apart from the few issues that were pointed out.
Suggestion 1: It would be great if there was a biometric login.
Suggestion 2: "There is an option to mark the favorite items but there is not an option to see the favorite marked list. It would be great to have a favorite list so that I don't have to select the items every time again. As my weekly grocery list is mostly similar."
Overall Feedback: "The gamifying feature is awesome, feels rewarding to save and spend wisely. Over all after viewing the use, it covers my purpose to keep track of expense. It covers my purpose to navigate as required."
Suggestion: Would've liked it if I had the option to compare products in the same store instead of just across the stores.
Possible feature: adding filters for stores in the search menu
Overall Feedback: The user liked the application and feels like it met their needs.
Overall Feedback: The user liked the application especially liked that the budget is right on the home page so that they know how much they spent.
After revisiting our work and based on the feedback received during the user testing, we identified some elements that could be incorporated in our next iteration of the prototype. These include:
Promotions, Deals & Offers
More Categories for Products
Providing an ETA depending on the mode of transport of the user
Group Shopping, that allows users to create a tab if they are shopping with other people (roommates/others)
Adding the favorites list from which the user can directly add items to cart.
