Notes on the practice exam:

Common sense - if you don't what know a term is referring to and there is only one labeled feature in the area provided, make a diligent assumption.
Work backward - the exam is multiple choice, instead of trying to make your own azimuth, coordinate, etc. see which ones you can use from the options provided.
Relate to the Situation - if you cannot find where you are supposed to be setting up an LP/OP, use your knowledge of tactics to think about where the grader is trying to indicate.
