Lake Highlands Junior High Spelling Bee

Every year, Lake Highlands Junior High holds a school-wide spelling bee.

  • Starting in the classroom level, students study word lists to compete against classmates in their ELA class.

  • Students who win in their ELA class move on to the school-level spelling bee, which is hosted in the auditorium.

  • The school's winner will move on to the district-level competition. The runner-up will also attend the district-level bee!

  • Scripp's National Spelling Bee Parent Site

How To Prepare:

  • Print out the study lists (the school will be providing a copy)

  • Identify where words become difficult

    • The list you receive is your grade level list and will work for your classroom bee.

  • Study by practicing spelling the words with a partner or family member!

When Will the Bee Be Held?

  • When:

    • TBD

  • Where:

    • Lake Highlands Junior High Auditorium

    • Because of Covid-19, we are unsure if we will be able to have an audience.
