Just -Right Books

Finding just-right books for students can be challenging, especially considering the wide range of interests and reading levels. Fortunately, there are many online resources to support you as you encourage students to find books that are a good fit for them.

Lexile.com

iStation assigns students a Lexile score. Lexile scores help teachers, parents, and students to select reading material that will allow for student growth.

Lexile.com provides an online search tool to allow educators and parents to match student Lexile levels and books.

Keep in mind, that student interests are an important factor in selecting reading materials.

Book Wizard

Use Scholastic's Book Wizard to find and level more than 60,000 books.

Parents and teachers can search using scores from the Lexile or DRA reading level systems. Both systems are used by RISD.

Book Wizard also provides options for searching by title, author, or keyword!


Leveling Resource Chart


Scholastic also offers a grid with Guided Reading, DRA, and Lexile level equivalents. Parents and teachers can click on the links for each level to view corresponding books.
