Overnight trip to London
A great trip we have run for several years. The trip has included:
Bethlem Museum of the Mind which is the grounds of the Royal Bethlem Psychiatric Hospital. You can read more about Bethlem here.
West End Show
Visit to London Zoo to take part in a psychology-related workshop (and plenty of time to see the animals!)
Professor Adrian Raine is a world leading criminologist and has done lots of research particularly focussing on biological explanations for murder! In Component 1 you will study one of the studies he was involved - in it he used brain scans to see whether murderers brains are biologically different to 'normal' people.
He is originally from Darlington and we have been lucky enough to have him visit us and talk to students. He is fascinating and we have had difficulty bringing students away when it is time for him to leave!
Brain Day workshop
A fantastic opportunity for students to find out about brand new developments in neuroscience and get really hands on by participating in a sheep's brain dissection! We are always very proud to get feedback from Dr Guy Sutton about the quality of input from QE students.
University Open Days
In the past couple of years we have taken students to visit the psychology departments in York St. John and Sunderland university. Students find it very useful in helping them make decisions about their next step after QE.
