The Level 3 Creative Media Practice National Extended Diploma will be studied over two years. This creative and technical course is designed to stretch and challenge those who are looking to progress into a career in the media industry. You will have the opportunity to explore a choice of sector areas, and will develop key practical and research skills. This fast paced, exciting qualification will allow you to develop and test your creativity. You will be provided with the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to progress to degree level study or employment.
You will work within our Media Classrooms on Apple Mac computers, with up to date creative editing suites to gain experience in the planning and production of a wide variety of media products, as well as engaging with local and national businesses to work on live industry briefs.
You will engage in a range of learning and assessment styles and be encouraged to become effective and independent in researching and presenting work. Work based assignments will enable you to engage with your own practice and to share knowledge and expertise with others through activities such as group work and presentations.
The media department runs a number of trips and visits to support your studies. Eg a visit to Warner Bros Studios, residential or day trips to London, and also residential trips to New York! You will also have the chance to meet a number of guest speakers who work in different areas of the industry.
