The basics
The basics
Sociology is an essay based subject that is assessed through exams (no coursework). There are three exams at the end of second year.
The main topics you cover in first year are education, research methods and culture and identity. In second year the main topics are mass media, theory and methods and crime and deviance
We will explore key issues in society, analysing them from different perspectives including Marxism, Feminism, Functionalism and Postmodernism
