UAAT x KOOU Bilateral Meeting: Plasticity in Development and Diseases
Jointly organized by National Taiwan University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and Kumamoto University, this symposium centers on the theme “Plasticity in Development and Disease,” emphasizing how dynamic regulation at the molecular and cellular levels influences development, tissue homeostasis, and disease progression. The program is structured around three core themes:
1. Plasticity in Development: Exploring cell fate specification, morphogenesis, 3D genome architecture, and RNA biology to understand how cells flexibly transition between states during development.
2. Plasticity in Diseases: Investigating how normal and aberrant plasticity contributes to disease mechanisms in systems such as cancer, metabolism, immunity, microbiota, stem cell regeneration, and tissue repair.
3. Development in Diseases: Tracing the developmental origins of pathology by examining systems like hematopoietic stem cells and the gut microbiota, to understand how developmental pathways are reactivated or dysregulated in disease.
This meeting aims to promote interdisciplinary collaboration between the two alliances through research exchange and discussion. Core sub-project members will present recent work, and interested faculty and students from partner institutions are welcome to join and explore future collaborations.
